Passport/Visa Requirements - Australian citizens require a visa to visit Vietnam. Visas should be obtained before departing Australia. Cambodia visas can be obtained on arrival for a fee. Check with your travel agent for all travelling requirements.
Currency - The currency in Vietnam is the Dong. USD is commonly used and welcomed by locals.
Taxes - Travellers departing from Australia must pay additional taxes when paying for their booking - check with your travel agent. Departure tax is also required before departing from Vietnam and is paid at the airport.
Clothing - Light casual clothing is recommended. Jackets are needed during the cooler months. Neat modest dress is recommended when visiting temples and ruins.
Insurance - Travel insurance is highly recommended and can be obtained through your travel agent before you depart.

Hotel Meal Pricing - Many hotels and resorts have compulsory dinners at various times over festive seasons. The cost of these will be reflected in the price of the hotel or tour at time of booking.
Climate - Hanoi and North Vietnam are cool in December, January and February (average of 17 - 20 degrees). Southern Vietnam is warm to hot in the months of June, July and August. Wet season for a majority of the country is in May to October. Wet season does not normally impact on travel and this is arguably Vietnam's most beautiful time of year. Rainfall during this time usually consists of one heavy downpour for an hour or two each day. Central Vietnam may experience unstable weather during October and November. North Vietnam experiences some misty conditions over the winter months.
