Hotels in the north of the island can be reached by an excellent road in about an hour from the island’s airport. The North is the tourism hub of the island.

It offers the advantages of fine beaches, a great range of accommodation and restaurants, fantastic shopping opportunities and amazing entertainment.

Many of the resorts are located within walking distance of these great facilities. The main areas are Grand Bay (Grand Baie), Pereybere and Cap Malheureux. Grand Bay was the first area of the island to be developed for tourism, it is a shopping and leisure paradise with a wide range of accommodation opportunities.

Pereybere has an excellent beach and a range of shopping facilities, restaurants and pubs. Cap Malheureux, with its red roofed church, offers magnificent views of the islets of the north coast.
