This comprehensive tour is an ideal introduction to the city and the island on which it stands. Heading for the garden city of Al Ain, a charming oasis that has served as an important caravan stop since time immemorial. A scenic drive through the desert brings you to your first stop, the Al Ain Museum and its adjoining fortress. The museum offers a glimpse of Bedouin lifestyle and local culture, as well as exhibits from the 2,500-year-old Mesopotamian burial site located nearby. A short walk from the museum takes you to the Al Ain Oasis, where you can observe date gardens being watered by the 2,000-year-old falaj irrigation system. Moving on to the Al Ain Palace Museum, the home of the United Arab Emirates late ruler, Sheikh Zayed from 1927 until the early 1970s. This is followed by a trip to the colourful camel market, from where you are taken to the top of the 1,300-metre Jebel Hafeet, which provides stunning views of the sprawling desert below, followed by a stop for lunch. Your last stop on the way back to Abu Dhabi is at the Green Mubbazzarah hot springs, situated at the foot of Jebel Hafeet.
